I am the Managing Editor of GOLO. I've worked in broadcast, print and online news for 15 years in multiple markets including Cleveland, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. I moved to the area with my family in February 2007 and have had the pleasure of watching this community grow from its infancy.

There is still so much more to come here at GOLO, so stay tuned. I think you're gonna like it here.

I have a suggestion that is used on another forum that I frequent. When you flag a comment or another post, you have to put in a few words as to why it is flagged. I think that sometimes things get flagged but the moderators don't understand the back story and why someone flagged them.

During the summer, my wife and I will head to the beach and fish from the pier. We'll be out there till 3 or 4 in the morning. We mostly catch puppy drum, spots, smaller fish. At times there are so many small sharks, that will be all you catch. I grew up in NW PA and did alot of freshwater fishing as a kid. Caught trout, walleye, etc. My wife and I want to learn how to fly fish and head to a mountain steam. That would be fun.

I think Elcid told me he was a Professor (Law) @ Duke at one time. That by itself impressed me & that is why it was interesting to follow his comments. Not that I always agreed with his logic, but it was a chance to see the 'Inside Scoop' on how he taught his students. I had the most respect for him.

But you gotta admit Angela, not taking anything away from Steve, because I consider him to be VERY smart as well, but it was fun to watch those two go at it, with neither giving in, but kept clean w/o the insults that some do now when someone doesn't agree with them.

Some believe ole Elcid lives on here today, under another name, & I do too. I sure you know whom I'm speaking of. No complaints though. I always liked him. :)

Venting, Venting, Venting and blaming YOU!

OK...my oldest was sick late last week up til sunday, got her all better and back in school. The youngest decided she wanted a cold. Got her better and running around getting on my nerves again. Now the oldest is sick again with the flu like symptoms AGAIN! What in the world? All I can think is that you got tired of yours being sick and somehow had me (being the wonderful person I am) on your mind, and somehow the stuff got shifted back to my house.

Hey, didn't say it was logical, just a vent. LOL! Sigh...gotta go clean more yucky stuff up. Hope your weekend will be better than mines is turning out to be! LOL

I think I solved the Welcome Wagon problem. On the blog listing page (http://www.wral.com/golo/blog/3266749/) at the bottom, I clicked "Edit Blog" -- that's the page that had permissions set to members only! So I changed it to public.

Your tooth fairy blog reminded me of 3rd grade: we made our own "tooth pillows" that year. We traced the shape of a tooth on a piece of fabric, cut out two of the fabric shapes, sewed the two pieces together, then stuffed the "tooth" to make it a pillow. We even sewed a little pocket on the front of the pillow to hold our lost teeth!

Hi Angela. I read your blog from yesterday about the muti-accounts that people have. I know that you can track the IP addresses. I wanted to let you know that I, and my co-workers, share 3 computers at work. There are 3 of us here, and I don't want you to think that we are trolling or anything. Angela my husband created a profile and a few hours later they sent him a letter saying it was deleted - due to profile. All he had done was opened a profile he hadn't even edited it yet so I know it didn't contain offensive material. Is it against the rules for 2 different people to share a computer?

I didnt know that about the blogs once they go on the homepage...but it certainly makes sense. Thanks for asking about the injury, the swelling has gone down considerably and the wound has pretty much closed up. I have a big purple and yellow bruise though and definitely still some tenderness. It's gettin' there!

Life in the mountains is most excellent. Took employment that pays 1/3 of what I was making in Raleigh and I think it was worth it. :)

Hi Angela, thank you for asking. We were there in Puerto Morelos, Mexico for a week. (Its about 10 minutes south of Cancun.) Its was our youngest son's wedding....they wanted a destination wedding and it was so wonderful. Our new D-N-L is an event planner and boy did she do it up....this was one of the best things my wife and I have ever done. Twenty-nine guests came, it was a vacation/wedding trip for many. Our daughter's hubby chartered a fishing trip for those who wanted to go....only four of us guys went and that was a really great day too. We caught (and released) six sailfish & several Bonita. We also visited the Mayan Ruins @ Chichen Itza while we were there. (an amazing place!)
