I am the Managing Editor of GOLO. I've worked in broadcast, print and online news for 15 years in multiple markets including Cleveland, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. I moved to the area with my family in February 2007 and have had the pleasure of watching this community grow from its infancy.
There is still so much more to come here at GOLO, so stay tuned. I think you're gonna like it here.

LOL, no ma'am, 'struth! On Hwy 70 between Goldsboro and Kinston somewhere. We could't find an open station but this one had a sign "24hr GAS."
It was AMAZING, and older than Moses. Every time I drive through there, I pass this one lonely abandoned station with one rusted-out pumo, and think, 'Yup - I remember that place, or one just like it.'

ENJOY your weekend, I'm going to enjoy mine. I've had a very light few weeks, once school kids went back, but next week will find me back to the grind stone. My 2 new ones will be here, full time, instead of showing up around lunch time in time to eat and take naps, and my school year curriculum kicks off. I'm looking forward to it. I've enjoyed some quiet time but I love my school year

With a little cool nip in the morning air, autumn isn't far away. Which reminds me that every year, the state/weather service will mention ONE weekend for when the autumn leaves colors will be at their peak in the NC mountains.
The poll quesion would be along the lines of "Which weekend do you think will be the peak of fall color in the NC mountains?"
It would be necessary to list each probable weekend (A. October 3,4. B. October 10,11...etc. through November.
AND I'd put a stop date on it BEFORE it gets near. Maybe, 'no guesses after September 30'?
Just an idea. :-)

Originally, it showed up on the right hand side, but within minutes it was not there. But, if I click on Show more, it does show up on the left hand side, and it was like 4th from the top. So, why does it show up and then disappear?
