I am the Managing Editor of GOLO. I've worked in broadcast, print and online news for 15 years in multiple markets including Cleveland, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. I moved to the area with my family in February 2007 and have had the pleasure of watching this community grow from its infancy.
There is still so much more to come here at GOLO, so stay tuned. I think you're gonna like it here.

if they remove a pic from a story ( the pic a person pics to go with the blog ) if you all remove it, REMOVE IT cause it still shows me the picture is there even though its been removed

If people feel threatened online due to comments, BLOCK and IGNORE. If they are being threatened through emails and phone calls and other means, utilize their local law enforcement

Thanks. I used to work for WSU in Detroit. They had a "confer" system that ran on a 1 off operating system that was supported by UofM, MSU, RPI, several Canadian universities, and a few others I can't remember. This "confer" system was very similar in function to golo, expect the "groups" had options to allow or not allow users. They also had the option of being "Public" to all users that had IDs to use the Universities' computers. (They also had contracts with several military branches for private/secure conferences).
Where they had the edge on golo is that *every* User ID had was attached to a known user, so no one could really get out of line.

You will be pleased to know that the blog post I requested reached the family it was written to comfort. I received an email from my friend within a few days of posting expressing his gratitude for the tribute to his loved one.....
