It might look quiet, but...

Para-sailing boat making his way up and down the beach looking for riders...

Para-sailing was still available Tuesday and Wednesday, and the huge casino boats out of Little River were afloat out on the Atlantic as people enjoyed the soon-to-be-gone warmth of the summer.

I was surprised at the many boats still collecting tourist dollars after the final summer holiday. Here you see a fishing headboat, a casino boat, and a para-sailing boat going for the last treasures of the season.

These kids are having a ball on this warm sunny day at the beach.

A swing and a miss! Hmmm...I wonder why they aren't in school today??? Oh well, GOOD for them!!!

The ocean temps are still in the 80's...and seemingly perfect for these three having fun.

September is actually the best time to come to the beach. The rates are cheaper, the air isn't stiffling hot, and the water is as warm as it gets.

This bird knows the ropes to a free meal! I no more than sat down for a bite to eat and he lands nearby, keeping a watchful eye on my food. He waited and waited until I gave in and threw him a piece of bread. He might have a bird brain, but he ain't dumb.

In less than 30 days from now, this beach will likely have a mighty chill to it.

Not today! This is about as calm as I have ever seen the ocean.

It's a home run!!! Of coarse the outfield crew was a bit too laid back to really care.

It's actually late Tuesday evening...halfway through my two-day stay. Gosh how time flies when you're having fun.

Mother Nature unleashes her touch of magic at sunset, making for another perfect day.

People strived to get every minute of fun out of the day. And that they did!

The para-sailing was only a hand-wave away!

I've never done this, but I was so tempted to.

The trips lasted for maybe 15 minutes, but the memory will last a lifetime!

This would be my view every day of the year. I LOVE the beach!

These kind of walks will linger in our minds all winter long.

Cause he knows cold weather is coming real soon.

By noontime, the beach looked packed and it was. This was a beautiful day, without the heat and humidity tiring you out.

...and the fishing pier and the waves....oh yes! Life is good!!!

The little jet ski hauls the raft to the beach and picks up those wanting to go para-sailing. The bigger boat takes them on out to the bigger boat that does the pulling. The dolphins surfaced constantly as they made their way north up the beach.

...that kept one's eyes busy. Dolphins and huge schools of smaller fish were constantly coming to the surface. October is the BEST time to go surf and pier fishing on the coast.

Atop the roof is one of the BEST webcams on the internet. Just Google (Cherry Grove Beach webcam).

Next month this pier will be packed with fishermen as October brings great fishing on the coast.

You'll find him at Little River, which is north of Cherry Grove about 10 miles.

Best time to fish is at high tide when the water is clear and no storms have been around for a few days.

And that he is...hoping for a handout. I was sitting at the pier's restaurant when I took this picture. And talk about a GOOD burger..they got em!

...or would that be son? Either way, this little guy was soooo excited to be here!

And he was hungry too as he perched himself on the rails surrounding the pier's restaurant.

The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining. I almost always eat out here, even in the winter. If you go there, try the "fresh catch of the day" on the menu. Today was flounder, and I wasn't disappointed at all. It was fresh as the menu stated...and delicious too.

If you want to enjoy a fun day on the beach, along with some great fishing and great food.
