animals
Animals are a big part of my life. I have 4 horses and one dog. I was going to name this pets, but I enjoy taking pictures of wildlife as well, so I decided to name it animals.
This is Thunder, my husband's horse. I love this picture b/c it reminds me of a picture from the animated move, Spirit. If you've seen that movie, you know this horse. His personality matches Spirits to a T!
Blaze is my sorrel mare (front). She is quite a fiery and spirited horse. When I first got her, she was very stubborn and sour. Over time, she has settled and is a joy to ride. But she still keeps a rider honest.
OK, so I love the Sound of Music. We saw this lovely doe on our way to Lake Gaston. She was just sitting there watching us. We see many deer every time we go, but I've never been able to get such a good photo.
Nokona is my 3 yo colt. He is the first horse I've had the opportunity to train since day one. He has a refreshing curiousity about things, as you can see in this photo. Where most horses would be skittish, he just HAS to investigate something new.
This is my first horse, Rocky. He has been a wonderful teacher to me. He's shown patience while I was learning and stubborn when I thought I knew it all. In all, he's a terrific horse who just loves kids and dogs and tollerates the rest of us. He keeps me honest in my horsemanship!
Abby is our lab. She came to us when she was 1.5 years old and has been a part of the family ever since. She loves swimming and chasing dragon flies across the cove at Lake Gaston!
This is my old, trusty gelding, Rocky! He absolutely LOVES kids, as you can see in this picture. He's hanging on every word my daughter is telling him.
