Looking for true get away from the hustle and bustle of city life? Little known area that is great for families. I even saw a Duke grad's house while I was there.
West Lake, Okoboji.

Took this at the Little Swan Lake Winery. They do sell Buffalo meat but their wine is really good, with names like Buffalo Blush.
Huge windmill project they are building in this area. Notice some are still being built and only have two blades
This grouping of sailboats is part of a sailing club based on West Lake
This was my firt view of the lakes when I arrived. This was taken at the spillway where Spirit Lake meets East Lake
There were about 7 of them.
Arnolds Park is an old time amusement Park right on the shore of West Lake. This was taken from the Queen Mary, an old time paddle boat that you can take cruises of West Lake for a very reasonable price. The next picture is from the Queen Mary of Arnolds Park

Houses like this are running over $800,000.00 and up. Over a million dollars is not unheard of for houses on West Lake
While driving in the very quaint town of Spirit Lake, I ran across this house with these Terra Cota Statues. Never seen anything like it anywhere. The next few pictures are of this.
