security exposed woman's breast - then joked about it UPDATED

Posted November 18, 2010

A WOMAN is suing over an incident where airport staff allegedly pulled down her top and joked about her breasts in public view.

The 23-year-old traveller, from Amarillo, US, is suing the US Government for the emotional distressed she says the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents caused.

Shock: 'Pat-down was sex assault'

The woman says she was singled out for "extended search procedures" while preparing to board a plane to Amarillo in May 2008.

“As the TSA agent was frisking plaintiff, the agent pulled the plaintiff’s blouse completely down, exposing plaintiffs’ breasts to everyone in the area,” the lawsuit said.

“As would be expected, plaintiff was extremely embarrassed and humiliated.”

The lawsuit claims that other employees laughed and made jokes about the incident "for an extended period of time".

The distraught woman left the screening area to be consoled but when she re-entered the boarding area employees allegedly started joking about the matter.

"One male TSA employee expressed to the plaintiff that he wished he would have been there when she came through the first time and that 'he would just have to watch the video,'" the suit said.

She wishes to remain anonymous due to privacy reasons.

Lawyers for the US Government confirm that the woman went through secondary screening but deny airport staff acted inappropriately.

Update - video of Ron Paul on the floor of the House.  He's introducing new legislation against the TSA and supports the "opt out" day.

If they exposed her breast, in front of hundreds of other travelers, then she has EVERY right to be upset! I agree with and understand the point of airport security. But the workers need to keep in mind that the people that they come in contact with ARE humans. How would they like it if someone pulled their mamas breast out in a room full of people? If this really happened, then in is appalling and she SHOULD sue!

I'm not sure if I believe this story or not.

I think I'll just wait and see how things shake out.

And if they loosen security, and someone hi jacks a plane, these SAME people are going to want to sue because security was not tight enough.

I think we need to get off the PC HORSE SHYT and start profiling. Every single incident over the last decade whether an attempt or sucessful has been made by a CERTAIN TYPE OF PERSON.

That is who we need to put through all this extra junk. I know it is not fair to the majority that are not terrorists but OH WELL,

WHY PUT EVERYONE THROUGH THIS WHEN YOU KNOW WHO YOU NEED TO BE TARGETING.

So we don't hurt someones "feelings"?

    So we don't appear racist?

Come on... from now on, when a cop is on the radio because he is chasing someone who just committed a crime and wants people to look out, let's just leave race out of it.

    I mean, same difference

Sounds like some people desperately want the gov't to be right here. It either happened or it didn't. If it did, I hope she wins and those guys get fired. If there is no tape, then I am very suspicious. I assume airport security has cameras.

Not sure I buy this. As much coverage as TSA has been getting in the news, I find it hard to believe that NOT one but SEVERAL employees would be that stupid.

I think that we are going to see a lot of suits from this stuff, all the "sue happy" people, the ones that do not KNOW that coffee will be hot, types, are going to come out of the wood work to get a piece of the pie.

Hell, I know some chicks that have been in dry spells and would probably LIKE to be frisked by the TSA workers.

:-P (you know who you are, but i won't tell!! LOL)

"This is why I never fly, Least with a car, I have time to jump out and have a 50/50 chance of surviving."

Would you rather have a 99.999% chance of NOT being involved in an accident in the first place? Or a 50-50 chance of survival by diving out your car window?

So men can be sued for being men now?

Just kidding -- this must have been awful for her. Hope she wins her lawsuit.
