Here's some info about Mary Alice's paintings and how you can buy them to help her reach her goal:
During the exhibition, half of the proceeds of any work sold will be donated to the Global Orphan Project. The Durham Art Walk began in 1999 as way to celebrate the creative energy of local artists. This year’s walk will include nearly 200 visual and performing artists.
Known for her colorful painting style and sweeping brush strokes, Mary Alice has chosen several pieces for the exhibit that are designed to elicit the bold emotional response she equates with her work for the Global Orphan Project.
“As artists, we create worlds of expression through our work. To be able to use that work to help create a world where children are safe is a privilege,” she said.
