you are responsible for what you post on golo

Here are a few facts about GOLO to keep in mind when discussing fairness.
This is not a pre-moderated community so anything can last for any amount of time depending on how quickly it is seen by staff or reported as abuse and seen by staff.
I have made it clear time and time again that I do not see everything posted on this site. No one does. Staring at the GOLO homepage watching blogs roll in is not in the job description of the managing editor.
Because there is no pre-moderation you may get reported and marked as abuse even if caught doing something that someone else did earlier. Yes, even if they don't get caught.
You are all adults and therefore responsible for what you post, that's really the bottom line here.
The only answer to this issue which seems to concern people only when they are marked as abuse or have lost their privileges is to go to full moderation and we are not doing that on a community site where you are expected to self-moderate.
The resources needed for that alone would be insane and we all know that hardly anyone here would last given the amount of innuendo and other types of comments often posted.
You are responsible for you. No amount of complaints about who got away with what is going to change that.Filed under: Internet & Technology

hehe
Seriously, I think a lot of people completely understand what you have typed here, I think what they fail to realize is some people go through comments of people they don't like, or innuendo they are tired of and hit abuse. I don't know what happened with the Crisco thing, and I'm sure no one really cares, but CERTAIN the person who posted knows exactly why it was removed.
C'est la vie

And a lot of folks have other folks on ignore. If people would just ignore the ones they don't like, and grow the hell up, then the abuse wouldn't happen as much, mho.
The innuendo blogs need abuse hit on them, they are disgusting and in my opinion a part of what brings the quality of this site down. There are other things, but the sex talk is disgusting. Do you keep up with it? People were talking about sticking fingers in each other the other day. GROSS.
