And that girl she kept pounding on should be highly commended for not turning around and pounding her nose.

But over the weekend, I went to play in my adult co-ed soccer league down in Fuquay. This story came up amidst conversation before our game started and one of the women on our team told me that this woman's behavior is commonplace in women's college soccer. I called bull. I said sure, maybe the hard tackles and even the punches in the back, but no way can that pony tail pull be common place. She assured me, as a former collegiate player, that it most certainly was. "That hard? Where the victim is pulled off her feet?" I asked. Yep. She said it was, but that we just don't ever hear about it because most women's soccer matches aren't televised/recorded.
I still find it hard to believe, but it is hard to argue with someone who has been in the game and seen it.
