did neanderthals have sex with modern humans?
Published Nov. 8, 2009Views: 420
Roughly 30,000 years ago, the Neanderthal woman disappeared, although proof now exists that some may still exist as recently as one week ago. Spent Rounds encountered one in a local bar recently. Mr Rounds was drinking Yingling beer quite profusely when he noticed a hairy and stout female eating meat with her fingers. When the bar closed, Spent claims she was a bit hairy but quite beautiful and he offered her a ride home. According to Mr Rounds, when they arrived at the suspects house she clubbed him over the head and demanded he enter her cave. She, according to Spent's sworn affidavit, then demanded the bone she claimed she had seen in his pocket. Mr Rounds, dazed and intimidated gave her the bone. Mr Rounds is now worried about the consequences of this encounter.
Could a hybrid occur between Spent and a Neanderthal woman? In a surprisingly bold statement, the leader of the international consortium of researchers sequencing the Neanderthal genome, Svante Pääbo, recently said he was "sure that they had sex and a hybrid could occur."
Spent is now seeking punitive damages from the Neanderthal woman and the right to market a blowup Neanderthal doll based on his recollection of that horrific night. He is also suing Yingling beer for cause and effect.
Spent disclaims any comments on Golo made by any hybrid that may have been created from this encounter.

4. Although initially hailed as indications of a Neanderthal belief in an afterlife, recent papers have dismissed the burial finds and re-interpreted the data today. For tens of thousands of years, Neanderthals stayed technologically the same - no art ever developed, spear points show almost no change whatsoever over their entire existence, nothing so show any speech ever developed (rudimentary sounds notwithstanding). Cro-Magnon rapidly developed 'culture' over a relatively short time-span from their first appearance, leaving Neanderthal man in the dust, so to speak.

1. No, all genetic evidence and archaeological data indicates that Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal not only did not/could not interbreed, but they also stayed out of each other's way.
2. "War" between these two groups of humans was highly unlikely. No evidence at all in the records found to date.
3. Neanderthal was a highly-specialized person (adapted to cold) - as his environment drastically changed (the inter-Ice Age period that we now live in) he simply just faded away. When the next ice sheets develop [and they will someday], modern humans may re-adapt some of Neanderthal's features (big, wide, fleshy nose, et al.) But the mind can't go "back." There are no indications that Neanderthal's had any real "speech" and their anatomy shows they probably had very high-pitched voices, unlike the low-gruntlike voices presented by Hollywood.

(An unrelated photo-op shows young hybrid only having one eye in the middle of it's forehead as authorities are beating it senseless.)
