Hey gang...well, a lot of you know about my lab who has cancer. The last couple of weeks he has been doing worse...moaning when he moves, not being as active...but he still eats and gets excited about food and goodies. He used to make these "moaning" noises when he moved, but he was heavy then...now I think it's the cancer. I'm going to call the vet in the morning and see if I should take him in to have the vet check him out and see what his opinion is. I've cried over this the last two nights...but I know I have to do what's best for my friend. I may find out that the moaning is from arthritis or something and maybe can give him something for it...but if it's the tumor, I know his time is short. It seems that no matter how inevitable we know something like this is, it always hurts when the "reality" of it smacks you in the face. Please keep me and him in your prayers...I don't want him to hurt, and like I said, I could be wrong on this and he may have some more good time...but IF it is that time...I'm going to need all the strength I can get...11 years is a long time to have a good friend. Thank you all.

So hold me now just one more time and let me hear you say, because you care so much for me, you'll let me go today Susan A. Jackson

May I go now? Do you think the time is right? May I say goodbye to pain filled days and endless lonely nights? I've lived my life and done my best, an example tried to be. So can I take that step beyond and set my spirit free?
I didn't want to go at first, I fought with all my might. But something seems to draw me now to a warm and loving light. I want to go I really do. It's difficult to stay.
But I will try as best I can to live just one more day. To give you time to care for me and share your love and fears. I know you're sad and afraid, because I see your tears.
I'll not be far, I promise that, and hope you'll always know that my spirit will be close to you wherever you may go. Thank you so for loving me. You know I love you too, that's why it's hard to say goodbye and end this life with you.

you do it because dogs need you. was there three years ago when I had to put my 12 year old collie down. was at the game when the Canes won the cup and three days later I had to say good bye. had to get my other collie another or he wouldn't have survived. it is hard and allow yourself time to grieve

My mom had to take her to the vet. I couldn't do it. Mom never got over it and went thru the change of life (at same time I left so empty nest)..... Lady was a sweetheart and I miss her still.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
