While Americans lay dead, dying, and wounded at Fort Hood, Obama strode to the microphone to adress an anxious and worried nation.....
and proceeded to give a "shout out" - his words, not mine.
OBAMA: Please, everybody, have a seat. Let me first of all just thank Ken and the entire Department of the Interior staff for organizing just an extraordinary conference.I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today.
I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow (ph) was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It's good to see you.
Now, where to start in explaining the idiocy of the narcissist-in-chief...
Firstly:
One is not a "winner" of the Congressional Medal of Honor. It's not like winning a blue ribbon for your apple pie at the county fair or... a Nobel Peace Prize.
One is a recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor - the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force which can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States.
So you see then that the award is given in recognition of heroic efforts and valiant action in combat - no one gets a CMOH for their "potential" or for "not being George W. Bush" - it must be EARNED (often at the cost of one's life).
Secondly:
Did the President of the United States of America, the most powerful elected leader in the entire free world, preface his remarks of ignorance about the Nations’ highest military award with the phrase “shout out”?
Really? “Shout out”, Mr. President – in light of the serious nature of your job description – and amplified in the face of a tragic event on a military base (the same military you’re supposed to be “in charge of”) your opening remarks contain the hip-hop culture slang phrase “shout out”? In the midst of an unfolding tragedy, you are “givin’ props your boy”? Really….
Thirdly:
Like so many other times when the narcissist-in-chief speaks of historical or military matters, he is wrong again. It seems ol’ Joe Medicine Crow didn’t “win” a Congressional Medal of Honor after all….
http://www.cmohs.org/ - see for yourself since many of you will not believe me….you can find every recipient in history on this website. Ol’ Joe ain’t there…..
Fourthly:
Dr. Joe Medicine Crow did win the Congressional Medal of Freedom – the highest civilian award from Congress. One would think that giving someone the highest civilian award from Congress would be a memorable event –especially when the president actually hung the medal around Joe’s neck himself - but apparently not…

And finally:
In case you haven’t noticed, your President has a narcissistic personality disorder.
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/narcissistic-personality-disorder/DS00652
- Believing that you're better than others
- Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
- Exaggerating your achievements or talents
- Expecting constant praise and admiration
- Believing that you're special
- Failing to recognize other people's emotions and feelings
- Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
- Taking advantage of others
- Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior
- Being jealous of others
- Believing that others are jealous of you
- Trouble keeping healthy relationships
- Setting unrealistic goals
- Being easily hurt and rejected
- Having a fragile self-esteem
- Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional
Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it's not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don't value themselves more than they value others.
When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don't receive the special treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry. You may also seek out others you think have the same special talents, power and qualities — people you see as equals. You may insist on having "the best" of everything — the best car, athletic club, medical care or social circles, for instance.
But underneath all this grandiosity often lies a very fragile self-esteem. You have trouble handling anything that may be perceived as criticism. You may have a sense of secret shame and humiliation. And in order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better.
Causes
It's not known what causes narcissistic personality disorder. As with other mental disorders, the cause is likely complex. Some evidence links the cause to a dysfunctional childhood, such as excessive pampering, extremely high expectations, abuse or neglect. Other evidence points to genetics or psychobiology — the connection between the brain and behavior and thinking.
Risk factors
Narcissistic personality disorder is thought to be uncommon, affecting less than 1 percent of people in the United States. It affects more men than women. Narcissistic personality disorder often begins in early adulthood. Although some adolescents may seem to have traits of narcissism, this may simply be typical of the age and doesn't mean they'll go on to develop narcissistic personality disorder.Although the cause of narcissistic personality disorder isn't known, researchers continue to learn more about the factors that may increase the risk of developing the condition.
These risk factors may include:
- An oversensitive temperament as a young child
- Overindulgence and overvaluation by parents ·
- Excessive admiration that is never balanced with realistic feedback
- Unpredictable or unreliable caregiving from parents
- Severe emotional abuse in childhood
- Being praised for perceived exceptional looks or talents by adults
- Learning manipulative behaviors from parents
Next time can we please come together as a nation and elect a qualified adult for the job of President?

Sort of my point don't ya think...The C-in-C uses "shout out" in a televised news conference while people under his command are dying and you want to argue semantics with me about "correct terminology"...

It's "Medal of Honor." Period. Had a Lt. Commander who dressed down a sailor for referring it as the C-word. Since we were on a boomer it was mighty uncomfy on that tour. Not defending his action, just telling you the brass are pretty particular about this decoration - and the Navy Cross. :-))
