how many blocks do you see ?

Published Nov. 7, 2009

Well, that's how many I see too, contrary to what some on here claim about me having "half GOLO on Block & Iggie" in various whine blogs the past few days.

Eight is Enough. Again contrary to what a few may say, I can take disagreement...I can take it in large doses. But I refuse to take part in just plain old ugliness and discord. I refuse to expose myself to some  of the hateful comments and blogs that keep getting posted. For me the most disgusting are those who claim to be "Christian" and yet continually post demeaning cartoons and articles painting Christians in a less than redeeming light. Then there's the minions that run back and forth spitting epithets against anything Christian mentioned in blogs and the on and on about how Christians are crazy, mentally deficient and just plain inferior because of their faith. I recognize where that kind of hate comes from and I also know until the last enemy is destroyed, we'll always have that kind of vitriol.

But...I don't have to read it and interact with it on GOLO. Even so with that in mind, ever now and then I wash the Block/Iggie slate clean and watch with Pollyannish optimism that perhaps those who have been restored , will no longer throw their hatefulness out with almost every remark they make. Some just don't get it and some seem to appreciate my gesture of reconcilliation. For the one I just put their names back on The List and for the others I look forward to interacting with and hopefully expanding my own world through through their eyes.

I don't believe I've ever exhorted anyone to put this one or that one on any sort of block/iggie list. That is something that is the domain of each individual. Often I cringe when I see someone leading a campaign to "get" this one or "ban" that one under a banner of cliquish togetherness. The cohesiveness of the mob is an ugly thing to witness.

I rather hope the list will remain at eight or less. It would be best if there were none on my list, as so many on here say they are able to maintain liaison with all, blocking and ignoring none. I take my hat off to their ability to remain above the fray and impermeable to the yuckiness that somethings splashes about in here. You guys that can go without blocking and ignoring a single one, are paragons of acceptability. I'm not that strong.

So for now I'll remain with my wittle pile of Eight. Not "half of Golo"...not scores or dozens....just Eight.  And it'd be nice to whittle that down to seven-six-five-four-three-two-one-none! I hopefully look forward to that elusive state of grace. But for now...eight is enough.

We Just Disagree

hmmmm, I remember you didn't like the group I was in, but as far as I know you never blocked me when you blocked a lot of the members of that group, and it seems you UNblocked most of the group too.

Dave Mason: Great Stuff! ;)

LOL screen name...You tell me. Seems like that can't take time to set up a profile themselves hasn't got a lot of room to complain about much of anything. But...whine on. Squeaky wheel gets the grease...replacement or just plain ignored.

I have always loved that song...

how many blogs does it take for someone to write about blocking and ignoring before they themselves are just whining like every other blogger about blocking and ignoring?

"ever now and then I wash the Block/Iggie slate clean and watch with Pollyannish optimism that perhaps those who have been restored , will no longer throw their hatefulness out with almost every remark they make. Great pic Robin. Hope yer Saturday's great too!

:) Yes...It's a killer schedule. Probably doesn't help a lot of relationships in the long haul. Looking back, I wish I'd snagged another "regular" type shift job, but then the money was good and it had great benefits for a growing family. We sacrifice what we have for others. I gave my years.

Hey OR, I've never had much correspondence whicha, but you seem to be a good one.

Happy Saturday, I say!!!

wow duder, killer schedule..... I plan on going back when my daughter is in kindergarden.....(4 years from now, provided we're still on earth)

whoop whoop for me too, lol...........
