"healthcare housecall" after action report
Published Nov. 6, 2009Views: 200
It was still pitch-black at 4:30 as conservative patriots from across the Triangle loaded up on one of the 4 buses that went to DC to show opposition to the House Healthcare bill, that will likely be rammed down our throats tomorrow.
The half-full bus was idling, when I arrived to the parking lot. Yes, it was early and people were still groggy, but there was a definite charge in the air, and cars continued to pull up, park, and unload people to get on the bus.
The windows were painted, the last people arrived and we headed out. I didn't ride on the bus. I rode with a friend, in the biggest, red, Dodge pick-up (diesel) I think I've ever seen...lots of chrome, decked out in Carolina Hurricane fashion (which made me a little queezy - I'm sure SOME of you would understand) LOL
Anyway, with flags a-flying, tires a-squeelin and stacks pumping out the blackest smoke you could imagine...we headed out on our Rolling Tea Party to DC. By the time we reached the rest area in Virginia, where we met up with other patriots, the sun had finally come up. There was still a chill in the air, but we were ready to go. Took a few photos, some took a smoke break, then we all pulled out to caravan up I-95 to pay Nancy a visit.
But she wouldn't come out and play! I don't know whyyyyyy.... We called her and called her. See?

But she wouldn't come out... Maybe she didn't like the music?

You would have thought that our buddy, Mark would have enticed her to come outside... but, she wouldn't come...maybe she has an aversion to "red meat"

There were people everywhere, crammed in as tight as they could be. They never thought that asking people to come, with less than a week's notice, they would see the thousands that showed up. Thousands of angry, fed-up Americans. But we did, we showed up...even a few GOLOers were able to make it. You can check out the photo gallery I just uploaded...you may spot someone you know!

So, just what did the Tea Partiers do after the press conference? Well, headed to the offices of those who were elected to serve the people and defend the Constitution! People ranted and raved like the lunatics they were painted to be, by our beloved media...or did they?
Here are some that went to John Tester's office.

Do we think we stopped the fiasco about to be voted on? No...we know Nancy's got the votes. But a message was sent...and Blue Dogs that got a free pass to vote "No" on this bill in order to save their seat...well, we won't be fooled again! We're looking at your COMPLETE voting record and will hold you to account next November! We saw what you did with Cap & Trade, the stimulus, the budget and TARP...and we are already organizing with campaigns to send you home, next year.

Actually, before you can solve something you actually have to have a real problem. Let us talk about three REAL problems. Medicare... Medicaid...and Social security. All three are broken. The first two, have in fact been massive drivers of higher health care costs and accordingly higher insurance premiums. this whole health care debacles is about 2 things. Control and a smoke screen. the smoke screen is quite simply about attempting to kick the can down the road on the broken triple three Social Programs.
