Do any of you happen to have this type water heater, or know someone who does or have service experience on them? I'd appreciate hearing your reviews, horror stories, recommendations, etc.
Thanks!

If a component of one of these units should fail, you may wait significantly longer for replacement parts, and most likely, will pay considerable more for them.
With the efficiencies of new water heater tanks, I myself am siding on the side of reliability over that of energy savings.

If the plumbing/electrical crew do not place it properly supply line freezing can be a problem during the winter months.
All in all a good idea, point of contact and all, just be careful with the brand and the installation.

I've got one at the beach just put it in this summer to replace a standard tank ( Bosch 115). It took a lot of fiddling to get right and I wouldn't say it's as near as good as my Gas one here at home. If everyone is down there (two BR's, 800sq footish) and the washer is running forget about a shower. They have larger capacity units (I think the next larger was a 125, etc.) but it's a good unit for a vacation home. I don't think I'd use it daily as I sometimes get frustrated or end up taking a lukewarm shower if other stuff is going).

We would replace it if we could find a unit at a good price. We have even looked at the gas models. If trees were not such a problem for us we would have solar panels. Our old house had them and we loved them.
Hope this helps
