we need snow!!!

This is a pic out of the Newsminer. You can clearly see that the only happy ones up here these days are the moose!! WE NEED SNOW!! So far this "winter", if you can call this winter, we are a foot short of our normal snow. That does not sound like a lot, but when a place is as dry as this place is, it is considerable. I guess wildlife enjoy the fairly warm temperatures, and lack of snow, but it will turn cold some day and we NEED at least 8 inches for insulation for the ground. So far, we have only had 5.5 and our snowcover at the airport is measured at 4 inches. So ya'll can see.....NC is not the only place that does NOT get snow sometimes!! Sometimes, even ALASKA doesn't get any. Amazingly enough, there are some places out west that actually have NO snow...literally, NO SNOW. It baffles my mind.
Hope all my friends are doing well and having a great fall down there. Hey, in just a few days, it will be Turkey day!!! Take care everyone!!!

Well, since he's north of that in Alaska, I think Yukon expects the white stuff. I hear they measure it in feet up there. :-)

I didn't know that about a moose, always figured they were like deer, I just thought it was interesting. (You can guess that I have never been in moose territory before!!)

I ran over a deer on my way home the other night (10 point buck..biggest deer I've ever seen in these parts). He ran into the car of a woman ahead of me, so he was down when I passed by. He eventually go up and took off but I have a good idea that he would have passed away in the woods from the accident...I don't see how he could have survived. :(
