I dunno. CNN has projected that based on taxes of just the consumption of marijuana, NC could generate $20.6 annually.
Add in a new hemp industry and legalization would be a enormous econmic boon to the state. I don't think it is as far away as you might think.

Won't all of these problems go away when it is legalized and regulated? Or do you think people will still go to the black market to buy something they could get at Wal-Mart?

Consider the distribution chain - all boy scouts, right? They'd never shoot anyone for territorial rights or step on the weed with PCP, LSD, Drano, or rob their buyers... Quality control and dealer integrity is, ahem, high and pure. Right?
