I just received an e-mail with some info. on King. Please, if you know anyone interested, let them know. Below is NOT my writing.
Some notes on King from the folks that had him out on an adoption event last weekend....
King was the 5 month old the pit/boxer mix that went with us for the event last weekend. He is fabulous. He did great with all of the other dogs. He plays with all of them really well, goes crazy with the ones that are OK with it and is gentle with the ones that need softer play. He is quick to submit and roll over. He was really humerous to watch with all of the rolling around and silly play. He will be a total chick magnet. He even got on TV with me from what my co-workers tell me.
All around great dog. He seemed good around kids generally (most of them were 5 or older) and could calm down and just sit with me once he got his energy out. He wasn’t lifting his leg to pee either…another submissive sign. I understand he is sick as of last night. Would you put out an urgent plea for rescue to come get him? He is too nice to get PTS. Any rescue would be lucky to get him.
King DOES have a home for 10-14 days, while his cold clears up, then he will be back at the shelter.
(This is Beth writing). I understand he is sick with a URI. I don't know anything about upper respiratory infections, but with antibiotics, he should be fine. Unfortunately, due to the limited space at the Wake County Animal Shelter, his time is at hand, especially due to the fact he has a cold and there is no room for him in isolation!
If anyone is interested in adopting him, I will put in $50.00.

Thank you! :-)
Beth
In loving memory of Honey.

dodeatdog, I know what you mean. It's really sad. Happens every minute of every single day, with these animals.
