who says stereotypes had to be bad?

Why is it that when people "mine" and "yours" think of stereotypes we always think the worst? For every negative label you put on a particular group based on religion, sex, race, age, weight, creed or color there is always a positive label. Also, why does the negative label have to stay negative?
