pondering the pondering of the coverage of fayetteville murder-suicide
Published Nov. 3, 2009Views: 744
Since I am not allowed to comment, I thought I would shed two cents from a logical stand point free of the "they're out to take away my guns" hysteria as to why this statement:
"Billy Maxwell Jr. applied for a concealed weapon permit in December 2007 and was granted one in January 2008, according to authorities. The permit was still active at the time of Monday's murder-suicide. "
Was likely in the report on the murder suicide of an entire family.
That one piece of evidence uncovered by the reporter answers several questions including,
Did the man own the gun legally? Yes.
Was he trained in how to use a firearm? Yes.
Did he, to the best of knowledge as permitted by the people who hand out permits, have any mental illnesses or social disorders or felonies making him a threat by owning a firearm? No.
Was he a responsible gunowner? By the fact that his CCP was not-expired and he was granted it, one would assume.
So that piece of evidence was likely not a conspiracy to fight toward taking your guns away, but showed that this was not some psychotic criminal, but an average guy that cracked and killed his family.
My two cents are complete.

but, all things said and done....there were much worse things that happened. That was just the one that ended it all.
I am okay with it. I know what I have to be....and that is NOT it...

Haggis was wrong, though.
I have always respected his pov....regardless of my thoughts of it....and I haven't been less than respectful to him.
That crossed the line with me. Great ole big fat line.
No one should EVER assume what one has or hasn't experienced....or researched, as he referred to it....

So tell me the source you used that stated this man was clincally depressed. I've read no where that stated he was seeking depression theraphy or that he was acting clincally depressed. There are symptons for this.....Has his existing family members stated soemthing that I haven't read yet? Only asking.........
