Now, before you bash me for posting a Christmas blog, understand one thing: decorating for Christmas takes an incredible amount of planning [and organization skills to store everything in as little space as possible]. No, we don't skip Thanksgiving. After all, who is at the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? Santa Claus!
In fact, I see the Thanksgiving holiday weekend as the perfect opportunity to get the bulk of the decorating completed! Forget the Black Friday doorbusters. Shop online, and decorate while you're off work and the kids can help.
If you are new to GOLO, or just missed this group last year, then we welcome you to join this Christmas group! You don't have to be the next Clark Griswold -- if you enjoy Christmas, you're more than welcome to join! By becoming a group member, you can post blogs about your progress decorating, tips and tricks for out-decorating your neighbors, photos of your holiday spectacles, and did I mention photos? Photos are excellent group additions, too.
In this kick-off blog for Christmas 2009, I have a question: how (or where) can you flock a Christmas tree around central North Carolina?

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I want that holiday feeling to stay for as long as possible.
I am just trying to force myself to wait until we have the day off for Veteran's Day to start putting it all together.

Although my pumpkins won't be painted until Turkey Day.....I always start thinking....most of my stuff is just in the attic...waiting....
but I've seen some very pretty things I am thinking of adding to my wreath this year....
and I am certain I will find something else to add to the yard....it gets a bit bigger and brighter each year....but we love it....
Taking it all down isn't so fun, but it certainly goes quicker!

And speaking of Christmas decorations, just yesterday I was thinking about putting an ample layer of Christmas lights on a small tree out front. I live in a condo, so if i can put them up without a cry from the HOAs, everyone in my building can enjoy.
