morsdeis: blog morsdeus' blog
a lesson on being a grown up

I'm going to whine. I have never complained about this issue or any of the Golo drama before, but frankly, I feel like expressing my opinion today.
If one is going to make an opinionated and/or inherently flawed argument and then block anyone and everyone from commenting simply because they very politely made a critical counter argument pointing out why the original argument was flawed or non-factual, perhaps you should consider making the blog private so that only those who agree or are incapable of critically assesing your argument can comment on it.
I understand it is your right to post it publicly as well as it is your right to block whomever you choose. I'm not complaining about anyone having these rights. I'm complaining about the overall tone of immaturity and insecurity that is exhibited by exercising those rights in the manner described.
I'm not addressing any one person as there are a number who display this behavior. I also do not expect this behavior to change; as I earlier stated, I am spleen venting vitriol for my own sake.
However, perhaps some introspection is in order for people to ask themselves why they are so afraid of opposing opinions and logical, academic criticism.
My whining is now complete. Have a Happy Halloween!!

Their attempts to attach their "hate-Obama-for-everything" 'non-partisan' demonstrations to a "support the troops" demonstration shows how despicable and desperate they are.

well when he's talking politics he doesn't need to say the reason our country needs this and that is because God says so. needs to leave his personal faith at the door ...........I have my personal faith but I don't think it belongs in the political arena on other talk shows. When he's on his own show and talks politics then that's a different story because his show is religious.

That's El Cid's own words (taken out of context of course) but then, what would be wrong with having those works and more and using them. We can have any thoughts we want, and we can dislike them, but we can have them.
By now, those who comment regularly are predictable and we all know one another's take on things. Still, repeatedly people react in shock at what is said, when it is within each of our character to do so. Then we say what we always say. Are we getting anywhere? Probably. Before coming on here what would ahve checked our thoughts, given us second thoughts?
