need photogropher advice

OK, here's the deal. I need some advice.
As I've mentioned a couple of times, I've lost 240+ lbs now. Sandra had an awesome blog last week that really hit home with me - "self image". I've been overweight my whole life and while I still need to lose around 30 or 40lbs, I'm having problems.
When I look in the mirror what I see is not what other people see. I still see the 460+ woman that was gross and disguting to myself. I can't get her out of my head. Because of how hard I am on myself and how hard I drive myself, this makes things more difficult. Because I won't look at the accomplishment of what I have done, but becuase I still see myself as huge and disgusting, I only see what I have failed to do yet - that last 30 or 40.
So my husband and best friend had a good idea. I need to "retrain" my brain.
They suggested I do a "photo shoot" and try and have fun (especially since I hid from the camera for too many years). Then take the best photo I like and put it in frame side by side with the picture I have at my highest weight. Then put that frame where I can see it every single day and force myself to look at the difference.
It's not a bad idea... but here is where I need your help. I have no clue where to start. I haven't gotten pictures taken in YEARS - Decades - seriously - multiple decades.
I'm broke right now LOL but someone was telling me that there are places where you can go and pay a "sitting fee" and they give you a CD with the images on them.
That would be perfect for me.....
Anyone know or have used anyone who does this? Recomendations?
I was also thinking, since my family has not seen me at all since I started losing weight, I'm going home to Texas for Thanksgiving and it would be an awesome gift for them too. At least my Dad and Aunt.

;)
in seriousness... check out JC Penny's. I think they and Sears both do that sort of thing (I thought I saw it in an ad one day).

Just remember they all are going to try and sell you packages...or maybe a Friend or Hubby can even do this for you with a digital camera...you get dressed up and have fun

look, i was a self-employed family/child photographer for a few years before separating from my husband and returning to the field of work i went to college for.
it's been a while since i've picked up my camera and done something creative and constructive with it. i don't have a load of free time being a single mom and all, but I do have free time on fridays while the kids are in school and i've got the day off from work. i could also maybe be talked into taking a vacation day if need be ;)
if you dont want prints, i'd be willing to do it for free. i could burn a CD for you and you can print them yourself. i'd give you a written consent form in case you want to bring them to WallyWorld or whatever to have them printed up.
i'm not being gimmicky. i just really miss my camera, and i enjoy doing things that make me feel good, and providing self esteem to a person who has come so far and really deserves it would hit the spot!
