where's the beef? (commies)

I am not able to be on as often as I'd like, so this topic is from some back reading I was doing. I want to hear what people's problem with communism is. Most of what I have seen spoken of it seems to me to be more directed at some of the people that implemented it...and failed miserably at it. So, tell me what your beef with true communism is. Tell me what about it turns your stomach...what scares you...what brings out the hatred? Are some still angry with those pesky "Ruskies"? Let me hear how you think your life would be negatively changed. As always, all opinions are welcome. I Personally don't think it could ever work. It relies too heavily on the good in human nature. If we were good enough to pull off true communism, then anarchy would be possible. While I do have faith in mankind, I don't believe at this time we would be able to pull off such a feat. It is just way to easy to abuse.

The human factor always leaves things open for those with nefarious plots to take advantage of others, and unlike in a democracy, in communism, those "others" have no legal or governmental recourse to depend upon when those plotters get in control.
Nazism failed for the very same reason, and unless the American people get a grip and start doing their homework well before casting their votes, democracy will one day fail too.

Man's nature is to be free - communism works against that ideal. The greatness of America is the freedom we have expressed in the vehicle of a capitalist society - i.e the pursuit of happiness.
Under the Amercian sytem we are each presumed "equal" - under communism we would be forced to be "equal".
There is nothing good about communism - no matter what utopian views one holds, it is an evil de-humanizing system that proves out the lie of altrusim and egalitarianism - and denies the rights of the individual.
No good has ever, or will ever, come from it.
