RALEIGH — I stumbled upon this awesome picture and the article concerning it....this picture is probably going to get flagged but I don't care. This article and all the comments concerning the model really really touched me. I read a bunch of the comments about the model (who to me, looks AMAZING and truly happy in her own skin) and how happy readers were and it actually made me tear up a little. To read about all these women who struggle daily with accepting themselves and how seeing THAT picture made them let go. I don't believe that model is obese or unhealthy, her body is REALISTIC. I guess I should add that there is a big difference between being "bigger" and being obese. As long as you're active and live a healthy life style, WHAT'S WRONG WITH NOT LOOKING LIKE A SUPERMODEL????

We live in a society where its one size and if you don't fit that size; you're fat. That there's no in between. Women (and you men) struggle with body image and are so self conscious that they are willing to die for the perfect body. I look NOTHING like the models and images were assaulted with everyday. I have curves, I have the little stomach pooch from pregnancy. My body is not "perfect" by any means, and I have struggled for the past 3 years to keep up with societies ideal image. I work out about 3-4 days a week and eat healthy and do all that good stuff. I've come to accept my body, "flaws" and all, because they represent the most beautiful thing in this world to me: my little boy. And as long as he loves me and knows I love him; I can live with my body.

After reading the article, my eyes were opened to something new. That women (and men) don't have to fit into that stereotype. I don't know what more to add to this other than I'm happy that a fashion magazine saw fit to break the mold and put REAL women, not stick thin, sickly looking women in their articles. So GOLO, what do you consider "beautiful" or the "perfect body type"??

Here's the page its on: http://www.glamour.com/.  I'm sure this might get attacked by a few nutcases out there; just give yourself a hug and think happy thoughts ok?? Ok, have at it...
