And here's the best pilot there ever was flying the airplane too. This plane could take a licking and keep on ticking. It could crash and burn and come back for more. And the best part, Snoopy never gave up, he kept going back for more.

Not many other airplanes other than EARLY ones were made out of wood due to upkeep. I can only think of ONE as recent as the 70's in GA (general aviation) that used wood spars in the wings. It needs inspection every year to make sure the wood has not degraded due to it's environment.
