inside wral: goodbye raleigh, hello atlanta!

We said goodbye on Friday to anchor/reporter Erin Coleman who has accepted a job at WSB-TV in Atlanta. Did you know that it’s one of the top 10 TV markets in the nation? Very impressive, Erin!
She will be the weekend morning anchor. Her first day is Oct. 5, and she’ll be joining another WRAL alum, anchor John Bachman. He worked here from 2003-07.
Besides acclimating to a new job, Erin is also planning her wedding for next year.
She began her journalism career in 2001 as a reporter in Jonesboro, Ark. About a year later, she moved to Greensboro and spent three years at WFMY News 2. She came to WRAL in 2006 and has worked as a reporter and weekend morning news anchor.
Erin is originally from Philadelphia but said she has some family in Atlanta. As for her former WRAL co-workers, she jokes that at least one of them is “heartbroken.”
“(Reporter) Dan Bowens is heartbroken because his ‘desk-mate’ is gone,” she said. “(Photographer) Ed Wilson now has no one to sing with him in the car … I’m just kidding btw.”
