inside wral: meeting the deen brothers!

One of the perks of working at WRAL is the constant flow of interesting people who come to our station to do interviews - politicians, actors, athletes, CEOs, etc.
I can't tell you how excited I was today to hear that Jamie and Bobby Deen (Paula Deen's sons) were coming to appear on our noon news to promote their new book.
Some of you may know that I'm a huge fan of the Deen's, their shows on the Food Network and especially their Savannah-based restaurant, The Lady & Sons.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary in Savannah this past May and we ate at the restaurant as part of our trip. I wrote a story and posted a slideshow, which you can see here.
I got a chance to talk with the Deen brothers and get a picture before they went on set. They were super sweet and even gave me contact info for one of their people, so the next time I'm in Savannah I can get into the restaurant faster without having to wait in the loooong line!
In case you missed it, here are some of the recipes the brothers shared with us on the noon news today. As the Deen's say, "Best dishes, y'all!"
I loved the way Pam Saulsby ended the interview with them: "Good cookin' and good lookin'!"
