My father was having surgery. He grew up near NYC, Montclair NJ. I took this picture 10 minutes after he went into surgery from the roof of his hospital overlooking the river.
I lost a few friends that day. I made many new ones. My dad cried when he woke up and we told him what happened. Lifetime of memories, special occassions at Windows on the World, family members lost to terrorists, my brother 3 years later in Iraq. Every moment is precious. Live your life now.

I pray our country takes today as an opportunity to remember those who are gone, the families/friends left behind to pick up the shattered pieces, and for those who fight to protect us each and everyday..May we all find common ground amoung one another, and strive to move past the differences that make us unique, to become a nation united once again..
