anyone seeing any signs of things picking up at work?

There seems to be a lot of people saying the recession is ending. That may be true, but as deep as a hole the economy is in, it is going to take a long time to get back to the way things were before things went south.
At where I work, I am seeing a spike in business and there's new work coming in. However, it is definately scaled back still. But I'll gladly take what comes along. Especially since my boss all but told me he was closing down my department. That is definately on his agenda. So much for 20 years of service. What about you? Does your wallet look like a run-over pancake?

BUT work is so slow, worried I may not have a job after the new year

We went to five just with in the last month and half. Now I half to work over time this week.

Since I work for Unemployment, YEAH< work has pciked up. Of course, you would be happier if work had NOT picked up around me.
Do I think that we are in recovery?? NO! If someone tells you that we are, they are dreaming. Everyday I hear about more and more places that are going under.
