peach pie in a jar recipe
Published August 23, 2009Views: 391
By popular request here is the recipe I did...
12 Cups of peeled, pitted, and sliced Peaches
2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Cloves
2 2/3 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of lemon juice
1/4 cup of vinegar
1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
Put all ingredients in a large pot...bring to a boil...reduce heat, cover, boil gently for 75 minutes stirring occasionally.
5 Pint size jars...ladle pie filling leaving about 1/2 inch head room.
Place in boiling bath water for 15 minutes.
We served it on top of Vanilla Ice Cream tonight and OMG SOOOOOOOO Good!!!
***Note: You may want to use half the Cinnamon and Cloves. I love it the way it is as did popular demand BUT Hubby thinks half next time, though he did say it is very good...I will try it with half tomorrow and see which is better. I took a couple recipes and still playing with it***
