traffic alert: ramp closure from 40 west to the outer beltline

It looks like some overnight roadwork dragged into the morning commute today. We saw a really slow morning on I-40 West between US 70 and the Beltline. People tell me it appeared to be related (until the vehicle fire, at least) to the Beltline rehab project between I-40 and the 64 Bypass.
Here's an update from the NCDOT:
The N.C. Department of Transportation will close the exit ramp from I-40 West to the I-440 Outer Beltline in Wake County tonight, Aug. 17, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., weather permitting. Motorists traveling I-40 West needing to access the I-440 Outer Beltline should use the following signed detour:- I-40 West to Exit 300A (Rock Quarry Road) to I-40 East/I-440 Outer Beltline
