whitehouse - reality check
Published August 10, 2009Views: 919
As an opponent of the current Health Bill, even I've been angered by some of the commentary I've seen coming from other people who oppose the bill. I've even called a conservative radio talk show and did a shame on you to the host for perpetuating some of the myths here locally
It doesn't help the cause in anyway, when people spread mis-information. But I'm seeing that on both sides.
My largest overall complaint, however, has been - no one FOR the bill would provide anything specific as to WHY the "myths" are wrong. Why is that? Because not even the politicians have any idea as to what exactly is in the bill to be able to argue any of the points.
SO imagine my surpsise when I get an email from the White House that they've put up a website called "Reality Check" to attempt to dispell some of those myths.

Ironically, there is only 1 out of 4 videos that do this. The one about euthanasia. The others only "complain" about what's happening now. Made me feel like saying "DUH" tell me something I don't know. But they don't really answer specifically WHAT the bill is going to do to solve it.
However, the euthanasia video even gives the page and explains what it means. For that I appreciate because even I knew that myth coming from opponents was just that, a fear mongering myth.
It's just too bad they aren't answering the real issues. It's disappointing. But I uderstand why. Because even they don't know.

And your source is? From the article:
Kenneth Gladney, 38, a conservative activist from St. Louis, said he was attacked by some of those arrested as he handed out yellow flags with "Don't tread on me" printed on them. He spoke to the Post-Dispatch from the emergency room at St. John's Mercy Medical Center, where he said he was awaiting treatment for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face. Gladney, who is black, said one of his attackers, also a black man, used a racial slur against him before the attack.
I guess we'll have to wait for whatever trial to occur before we get the real story.

The comment from the tea party militia was directed at the quote below, where someone condemns a group for urging their members to come out in strong numbers. My point is posting the quote was to show that was not unique to one side or the other.
""And the follow-up article about the SEIU memo stating to "come out in strong numbers to drown out their voices".'

I guess you didn't read the local newspaper article that was linked in the story which included a statement from the victim.
