well, if we're doing airplane pics . . .

I posted this one yesterday, but thought I'd throw it up again since I went to all the trouble of scanning in this picture.
This is a T-34C Turbo-Mentor. One of those two planes is me. I don't recall which one, but I suspect I am in dash 2 since it's a little acute and has too much seperation and I stunk at formation flying in fixed wing. I did a lot better with helicopters. (The picture was taken by my flight instructors in a chase plane during a formation solo.)
The airfield below is NAS Corpus Christi. My house is out there where the world ends and the Gulf of Mexico begins.
It was a great time. If you weren't flying, you were doing what single guys with too much money and too much time did for fun.

I was privileged enough to photograph the eastern third of the state of Nevada for the USGS which included Nellis AFB and the limits of Area 51.
I based in Las Vegas....3 months....and man-o-man.....what a single guy could do in Vegas....

Dang. All the cool planes they had back then and he got stuck with an open cockpit.
I hope he climbed in to something cooler afterwards.
