Here's a baby mockingbird in the backyard. They hatched about a week ago, and Momma Mockingbird was sitting directly overhead watching my every move!
What type of birds typically nest in your backyard?

Huck, the humming birds will start hitting the feeder in August. They get so hungry then when the flowers stop blooming and they have babies to feed. Please don't give up on the feeder yet.

Oddly I do not find nests in the yard...maybe because of the dogs...though trees are loaded with squirrel nests...trying to figure out how to get past the dogs in the yard and to the feeders *LOL* Guess they have yet heard "The early bird catches the worm" *LOL* Dogs do not go outside until 7 AM...then the chase is on all day long *LOL* Squirrels slowly creep into yard...gets just about that close...dog watches until it hits about a foot from feeders...race to who will get to the fence first *LOL*
