divorced??

We all know of some very nasty divorces that have happened to folks we know or know of. Some were announced in strange, even offensive ways. Newt Gingrich having divorce papers served to his wife while she was bedridden in a hospital still stands out as one of the more tasteless, callous ways to perform the deed, at least in my mind.
But, feel for this poor guy who found out by a 'status update' on his mom's Facebook page.
Yep. The kids are always the last to know. ;-)

I don't know the facts, but the timing is all wrong for divorce papers to have been served when she was in the hospital. That was a 'yellow pad' of things about the divorce, nothing served. Bad enough, I guess, but her cancer surgery was 3 years before. Lee Howell, who worked for Newt earlier, said that. Other things were quoted about Newt in the divorce that were, to my mind, worse, again by ex-employees.
Newt is a smart guy, very driven and like my image of every politician, is all about himself and the image he tries to project, isn't him, all the way back to JFK. My personal feeling is that people who want to be president for sure, are either momma's boys, or have something wrong with them. But, someone has to do the job who can do it with all the BS that comes with point man.

Nearly twenty years married, two teen kids, a house, two cars and what seemed a lifetime was being tossed away like so much used wrapping paper.
In the end, the final divorce papers were two pages plus one paragraph long, double spaced.
I wish more divorces would end so peacefully.
