visit a national park for free

A few weeks ago our family decided to include a visit to Appomattox Court House National Park in our vacation plans.
We had a pleasant surprise when we pulled into the national park -- our visit would be free!
For those of you who are interested in taking advantage of skipping the admission cost, two more "fee-free" weekends are coming up. On July 18-19 and August 15-16, 100 national parks will allow visitors in for free.

He was a GREAT teacher. He loves history, especially that time frame, and he could make it come alive. He taught my freshman english class as well, we did Romeo and Juliet. He was a HOOT but a much better history teacher.
Last year, my youngest was putting together a book on NC and we decided to showcase First For Freedom, so I had my aunt look up his phone number and I called him. He remembered me! We had a great chat and he sent some wonderful information to add to my son's book

I think the scrapbooks were actually required products years ago. The person who taught before me required the students to memorize all 100 counties of NC. I just require them to learn the 50 states.
