What is behind Palin's resignation from office?
Palin's shocking announcement seems to belie plans for a Presidential run. Generally, when you run for election to a high office it's understood that you'll stick around to do the job. She only had 18 months left, she should have at least completed that term. A quitter never succeeds.
If it turns out Palin is fleeing office in the face of something more egregious or scandalous, we would be averaging the loss of one GOP Presidential hopeful per week. Perhaps it will be revealed that Palin and SC governor Mark Sanford had a liaison during one of those Republican governor conferences. Palin has been absent alot lately from Alaska, and her popularity rating has decreased to 55%.
Stay tuned, these Republicans are fun to watch.

Yes the Obama camp went to Alaska the night of the Republican convention and began searching for dirt. False blogs were up within 12 hours. The Democrats rushed to be the ones to DEFINE Palin. They did with the help of the media. It was scary to see those tactics be used so effectively.
In truth, could the Democrats pick a better candidate to run against? Palin has a lot of study to do to be a viable presidental candidate. Don't think she can overcome the negative slur tabloid type jokes made about her. That picture above as example.
Why then, are Democrats so eager to see her fall?
I think there exists within the Democratic Party, my party, an ugly element which thrives on hate, ridicule, and scorn. It's a petty emotional element. We Democrats need to silence them. The party needs to live up to its pretended position of being on a higher moral plane. Cut that cancerous element out of both parties, expose them!

I don't think anyone in any party is afraid of Palin because frankly, there's nothing to fear:
1) She is not an effective communicator (example: her rambling announcement/speech of her intention to step down as governor). There is a huge difference between talking and effectively communicating.
2) She doesn't even have a solid political message to rally anyone behind, and even if she did, she wouldn't effectively communicate it (see Point 1).
3) If she runs for President, she will fail (see Points 1 and 2)
Yep, nothing to fear, except more SNL skits.

THE battle between Levi Johnston (above) and Sarah Palin isn't over yet. Johnston -- best known for impregnating the former vice-presidential candidate's daughter, Bristol -- "is shopping a book," his bodyguard/publicist, Tank, tells New York magazine. And it seems the book will focus on the Wasilla, Alaska, political family. "There are still many untold stories about the Palins," he said. Until the tell-all is released, though, Johnston is considering "a leading role" in a movie and a possible upcoming TV "docu-drama."

Not really a joke. Chelsea was a but t ugly child. And, as far as Janet Reno goes, she very well might be a man, But it is highly unlikely that Reno is Chelsea's dad.

I guess it never occurred to her that no one was going to force her to behave that way. She did have the option of just continuing to do the work the voters elected her to do.
That excuse was so lame it's hard to give it much credence. She was certainly savvy enough to do this just before the holiday weekend, but if there is another shoe, you can bet it will drop sooner rather than later.

...the FBI's Alaska spokesman said the bureau had no investigation into Palin for her activities as governor, as mayor or in any other capacity.
"There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we're investigating her or getting ready to indict her," Special Agent Eric Gonzalez said in a phone interview Saturday. "It's just not true." He added that there was "no wiggle room" in his comments for any kind of inquiry.

-Consistently fighting false ethics complaints spread by those opposed to her personally, costing the state (and her) money.

If you differ with Palin's policies fine, but I don't understand the personal hatred you lefties have for this woman. You excuse sexist comments, excused the death threats against her children, and laugh with glee now that she's resigned. Perhaps it is a requirement of liberals not to have a soul.
