I know that it is only a little before 2:00 pm, but I wanted to send this message out early because it is already beginning.
Ladies and Gentlemen, and Goloers, PLEASE, use some common sense today. I have already processed 4 drunk drivers. Four people have died and one was injured by a fireworks explosion on the coast. (and they were professionals)
So here goes: Try and leave the fireworks to the pros, THESE THINGS ARE DANGEROUS. Sparklers look pretty, but they get pretty darn hot (well over 1000 degrees) so don't let little children play with them. If you are the adult supervision at a home fireworks display because you don't want to fight traffic, DON'T GET DRUNK WHILE WATCHING THE CHILDREN, I repeat "FIREWORKS ARE DANGEROUS.
If you do go to public displays, picnics, etc...., GREAT, I hope you all have a great time. But, If you choose to consume alcohol, DON'T DRIVE!!!
And NO! YOU DON'T DRIVE BETTER AFTER YOU'VE HAD FEW.
Please adults, let's all act like adults. show some responsibility and intelligence. All my brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement, EMS, and Fire Protecrtion do not desire to meet you in a professional capacity tonight. Our jobs are tough enough without the extras.
