let's de-escalate the missile crisis

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to back away from the sabre rattling and get down to co-existing? I saw an interesting blog earlier on just this issue. The question posed was "Should our President Obama invite the North Korean government to our country and take part in our Fourth of July festivities?
I thought to myself, "Really now, Why not?" Why not show that nation, that we have no ulterior plans toward them as a nation and there are other reasons to invite them to join with us in our won "revolutionary" celebrations.
- They make great fireworks so they can appreciate a good display.
- They've got no problems eating pork. (This alone makes them better dinner guests than say, the Iranians.
- They love parades. Take for example those long drawn out affairs where thirty eight missile carriers circle a reviewing stand for hours in hopes of conveying the illusion of unlimited capacity to launch "tests" into the sea.
- Barbeque diplomacy could very well do for our relations with the Koreans what ping-pong did for us with the Chinese. (At this point think Forrest Gump)
Or we could just snub the little guys and let them keep launching duds and eventually some poor fisherman, or the crew of the "Worlds Most Dangerous Catch" will be the unintended target and then we will all be wishing more effort had been put toward diplomacy. So...what do ya think. Should we have invited the North Koreans over for some Q and fireworks? Or should we just send a few sky bursts of our own Trident II D-5 SLBM (UGM-133) arsenal...as our Fourth of July gift to the Korean people?

Whatever you decide...Happy Fourth to all...and do try and keep it safe. Watch the kids while they're swimming...Be aware that mayonaise will go bad on a picnic table and since it is so dry out there, take pains to avoid setting Farmer McDonald's pasture and barn on fire from your own fireworks display!
