My daughter has a friend that is very unique. She came to the U.S.A when she was 6 and her parents could barely speak english. Her mother died when she was 9 years old and her father was murdered when she was 12. She was raised by her grandmother and she passed away 2 years later. She promised herself that no matter what happened in her life she is not going to let the myths come true. While living with her aunt and uncle she said she will never make less than a A in school ever again.Two weeks ago she received a four year scholarship to Stanford university!! She was over here earlier and she was very emotional talking about where she came from. She is the first Hispanic in that school to finish top her of class!
Like I said.......
THERE ARE NO EXCUSES! THIS IS A CHILD FROM MEXICO THAT SOME SAY WILL BE A NOTHING AND SHE PROVED EVERYONE WRONG!

DJ, and that is one of the reasons that a lot of our high tech jobs are being sent off-shore, and there are more immigration visas being approved for those folks to work in the US. Our colleges are graduating more foreign students in the sciences and tech fields than US students.

I am so sick and tired of that lame question!!! If It gets your rocks off to know the answer I will answer it for you...YES SHE IS LEGAL!!!! Marisol is a outstanding citizen and a great student! She cant enjoy her benefits of hard work without someone asking her that dumb question! My daughter told me she was treated so bad in school by other students because of her race. But the same people that treated her bad either dropped out of school or on their way to jail and drug addicts. I guess she got the last laugh huh?

I know of several that would love to but their parents make too much for financial aid and not enough to pay for it. So they apply for scholarships to see them given to minorities.
