palin and the press
Published Jul. 1, 2009Views: 585
I just listened to this almost painful interview with Mike Allen (from Politico) about the media hit piece against Sarah Palin in Vanity Fair.
Whether you agree with the premise from Vanity Fair or not, this interview plainly and painfully (for Mike Allen) demonstrates the lack of journalistic integrity with which the main stream media has covered Gov. Palin.
The audio clip starts with the interivew with Mike Allen on Morning Joe this morning. It then moves into how that interview is dissected.
newsflash to Mike: you might want to either learn the sidestep shuffle or give an honest and accurate assessment of what is being written about palin.

Yes, I still think she's an idiot.
I also think she was unfit to be vice president or, god forbid, president.
Still, why skewer the woman? She made it to the governorship of Alaska. She might be a better, more suitable politician once day when she actually consults a map and starts brushing up on world and domestic affairs.
McCain lost in great part because he chose a poor candidate for his running mate, and in part because he ran as a republican candidate and was painted with the Bush/McCain brush.
That's not Palin's fault.
Making fun of her can be amusing, but I think it's inappropriate to lie.

One doesnt become a governor of a state of these United States by being what you call an "idiot".

Um, Mark Sanford (and others, including Palin) have recently proved otherwise...

UM, One does not get elected governor of a state in the United states by being an idiot. Even if they make mistakes AFTER they are elected, Um.

Too bad those journos failed to do any investigation of our current POTUS. Had they done so, maybe he wouldn't be POTUS and our economy would be on the road to recovery now.
Instead he's presiding over the largest spending craze in the history of our nation. But what would we expect from a guy that Hugo Chavez refers to as Comrade.

Please explain how they are stupid. Having a affair doesn't mean the man didn't do his job Clinton, Jefferson, Kennedy comes to mine. How many senators were got out there crookedly getting away with taxpayers money. Palin wasn't given the only 24 hour alert national guard and first defence to American safety without being qualified. Of course she didn't know as much as the senators who make it to meetings sometimes and discuss foreign policy but she did deal with Russian defense with the national guard daily. She also is wellliked in Alaska so she can't be allthat bad. it was reporters who not only mde themselves look ignort but make her out to be a laughing stock. I don't think she ws ready for president but under eadership she would have done fine as a VP as good as any I've seen yet. Gore comes to mind and Joe I won't even go there.

And just what do you think we ended up with? I don't call running around and falling all over yourself throwing taxpayer's money left and right to pay off political supporters with whatever they happen to be whining for at the moment especially smart or sensible.
No Republican could have won after eight years of the Decider. When that became apparent, Gov Palin was a convienient choice to blame for their inevitable loss.
Some Democrat must have finally wised up enough to read the Republican play book and use the GOP's own tactics against them.

Wow. It was like he was talking to a robot, programed with the acceptable template of answers and he used those answers no matter what the question was.
I don't know what is going on with our "free" press, but what ever it is, it's scary as hell.
