Americans are evenly divided on the climate change bill passed by the House last week—37% favor it and 41% are opposed. Forty-two percent (42%) believe it will hurt the economy and 19% believe it will help. Most (56%) are not willing to pay more in taxes and utility costs to fight Global Warming.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter.
Overall, 54% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance so far. Forty-five percent (45%) disapprove. For more Presidential barometers, see Obama By the Numbers and recent demographic highlights.

he won the election. polls are not what he needs to be concerned with now. cleaning up the mess he inherited from the previous administration will be hard, and he will have to make lots of unpopular decisions along the way.
so, low poll numbers might be an indication that he's doing the job we sent him up there to do.

Yeah...the same was true of George Bush right? Obama's poll numbers are falling. They are going to continue to fall. Every action that he and his administration takes has a negative effect on the long-term recovery of this economy. More and more people, even those who voted for his "change", are starting to realize that he's at least a leftist, at worst incompetent, and definitely somewhere in between. He is not "as seen on TV" during the campaign, and people are starting to realize that the bait-and-switch" is in....
