your michael jackson memories

What are your favorite Michael Jackson songs?

I don't even think I can choose. I loved everything from the Thriller album and we even had a dance concert when I was in fifth grade called "A Tribute to Michael Jackson." We had a dance routine for every single song. I danced to the songs "PYT" and "Human Nature."

I remember wanting to dance to "Beat It" but I didn't make the cut. The routine was too tough for me.

I remember watching my mom and her sisters dance to the older songs, and coming to love them myself. I also spent countless hours at the skating rink adorned in MJ T-shirt, purse and no fewer than 15 buttons all over my shirt and jeans. When they played his songs I never left the floor.

No, I didn't know him personally but I am still sad. You can't discount what he was and will always be to the entertainment world.

Got memories?

Share them with us.

He touched my 12yr old soul in ways you can't imagine.

My fav memory is me and my cousins making up different dances to Rock with you, billy Jean and beat it. And of course the big debut of the Thriller video. I was 11 then...

My greatest memory of Michael was the very first time I saw the moonwalk. Pure magic

I remember when his skin tone was considered "african american".

I was at the Victory Tour in 1984 which took place at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida. Our seats were in the 12th row and the experience was incredible. I went with my cousin and his best friend Spencer. I was 10 years old at the time and Spencer was nine. I remember wishing that I could meet Michael and get his autograph but of course that didn't happen. Michael, while in the area, was staying on North Bay Road (in Miami Beach) with the Bee Gees. This was only a mile from where I was living at the time. The day after the concert, Spencer was riding his bike on North Bay Road, when a limousine pulled up beside him. Spencer could hear a voice yelling "stop the limo". The window rolled down and Spencer was face to face with our concert hero from the previous evening, Michael Jackson (who was sitting next to the Bee Gees). Michael talked to Spencer for quite sometime. I will never forget the concert and I will never forget hearing aboout Spencer's experience meeting Jackson.

I remember seeing the Jackson 5 perform when I was about 9 years old. I grew up listening to them. Everybody tried to imitate them. Michael was a fantastic entertainer. There will never be another one like him. He's the greatest at his art. He'll be deeply missed by all who loved and cherished his musical and humanitarian contributions. My prayers go out to his family and close friends. May MJJ RIP. Also, for those who are posting nasty comments about Michael, shame on you. He just died. Let his soul RIP.

whether we liked micheal or hated him, he will always be remembered for his talent and songs that touched every race. personally, i liked him best in the 80's when his was "black" with songs "billie jean" and "thriller". lisa

Just cannot wrap my mind around this. I am so very sorry for this troubled family who has suffered so much in their lifetime. The death of a loved one is devastating no matter who you are and my heart goes out to all of them. Some day the truth about it all will come to light but until it does my thoughts and prayers are with the family and those precious children.

Earth Song. Not a big Jackson fan but I like a few of his songs. Earth Song is the best IMO. Don't know, just like the sound of it.

Regardless of the questions that surrounded him, Michael truly influenced the music industry. He was not just a musician, he was a brilliant artist. My sister summed it up nicely. "As a child, he was made to live the life of a man. As a man, he chose to live the life of a child." It really made me think.

The music industry had a huge loss with his passing.
