I'll be heading to Myrtle Beach with some friends first thing in the morning. I havn't been there in years as I find NC Beaches more appealing on so many levels.

Since it's been awhile and I'm out of touch, any suggestions on places to eat while we're there?  What's good?

Really Thanos? Wow. It's one of those things you should do at least once, but then you're over it lol

We stay in N Myrtle Beach, it's a short drive (15 minutes) to Calabash if you're looking for fried seafood. Plus, it takes you away from MB traffic.

I like Murphies hes_not!

For drink and dance, Main St. in Ocean Drive. Fat Harolds, Ducks, Priates Cove and others for dancing.

Hey Chick !

LUCKY GAL !!

Broadway at the Beach !!

Margaritaville !!

Have fun :)

Best place to me in MB is Crocodile Rocks out at broadway. You will love this place, if you don't come back an bless me out. It's a deuling piano bar but oh soooo much more.

Gotta do Calabash!

Thanks ya'll! Good suggestions.

HEY SESSY!! We need to plan a trip!!! I'm serious!

How far are you willing to travel? Russell's Place in Murrel's Inlet has great food. It's not really a tourist place --no buffets. You will get fresh seafood cooked with lots of flavor. We always get the dessert to go, too.

To eat, I LOVE Captain George's it is one of the best seafood buffet's ever (to me). T-Bonz is good too

There's a Subway in the Wal-mart. $5 foot-longs.

Try Coleman's at Calabash. Never been disappointed. As for MB, not so much. Too much traffic, even in the middle of the night.

Sure, just drive North into North Carolina, and visit Calabash for food. Then, drive South of Myrtle Beach to Murells Inlet for some beautiful beaches. Also rent a canoe or kayak and go out and catch some great flounder, get some great pictures, etc., then for sleeping....oh, wait, you said you were going to Myrtle Beach. Ummmm, why?

check out the Marguarittaville complex for fun shopping and lots of things to do.

Ugh, I'm leaving for there this afternoon. Not by choice though. The in-laws rent a place there every summer and we HAVE to visit. I love the beautiful beaches of NC so much more. Not as many (coughweirdcough) people and much more relaxing and serene. The main thing I avoid at the beach though are buffets...GROSS!

Just don't go.

Just drive down to Murrell's Inlet. It's about 7 miles south of Myrtle Beach. Drive down Hwy 17 and you'll eventually see a sign that directs you to turn left to go to Murrell's Inlet. There are a ton of good places to eat there, some on the waterway with a nice view.

Bennett's. They have a great buffet with crab legs on the buffet. Little pricy but very good. Also, for entertainment with a meal, try Di ck's if it is still there @ barefoot landing. For Drinks and Dance there is Mother Fletcher on the strip in S. Myrtle. they used to have a live band on the deck outside and dance on the inside.

First of all. I am sorry to hear that you will be in Myrtle Beach proper. Anywhere you go, there will be crowds galore. Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery at Broadway is good, but if you want some seafood drive down to south of Surfside and to Murrels Inlet

We were in MB last year on Father's Day weekend. We tried to take FIL out for a nice dinner. Even though they live about 45 minutes from our timeshare, they were 3 hours late. Put us smack into the dinner crowd. FIL can't eat food with sodium, cholesterol or fat. We ended up at Denny's! Not my idea of a nice dinner, but FIL was happy.

"Just don't go."

Wholeheartedly agree. There are few places I'd less rather be than Myrtle Beach.

"Try Coleman's at Calabash. Never been disappointed. As for MB, not so much. Too much traffic, even in the middle of the night."

We dropped in on Beck's while we were over there. Sadly, the portion size has shrank, drastically, while the price has skyrocketed. I don't believe we'll be returning.
