former provost pay documents released by n.c. state trustees

The North Carolina State University's Board of Trustees called an emergency meeting Sunday evening to decide to release information to the media about former provost Larry Nielsen's pay deal. The compensation package is much larger than the university previously reported.
hmmm according to the article on main page he is gonna get his 300k untill 2012. past reports says he will be teaching only 1 class? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

But you are correct that the AMOUNT of retirement benefits received is based upon the highest consecutive pay period (don't recall if it is 48 or 60 months) and the multiplier is actual years of service. There is little doubt in my mind that the mess going on at State to show some very well compensated years was done for that exact purpose.
