Here's a weekend heads-up from your pals and mine at the NCDOT:
The N.C. Department of Transportation will shift traffic on Airport Boulevard (State Road 3015) between N.C. 54 and McCrimmon Parkway (S.R. 1635) in Wake County beginning Friday, June 5 at 7 p.m. until Monday, June 8 at 6 a.m., weather permitting.
During the shift, motorists traveling in both directions on Airport Boulevard will be shifted onto newly constructed lanes on the western side of the road.
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use an alternate route. The traffic shift is being performed as crews prepare to widen the existing roadway to five lanes of traffic.
Work on this project is scheduled to be complete in August.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit. Plan ahead before driving by visiting the NCDOT Traveler Information Management Web site at www.ncdot.gov/traffictravel or call 511, the state’s free travel information line for current travel conditions.
For more information on this project, please contact the resident engineer at (919) 840-0914.
