question - selling a car on craigslist

Does anyone have experience with Craigslist?? I'm posting my boyfriend's Camaro. Some folks have expressed interest. The latest email has thrown me for a loop. I want to be extra cautious with the information we release to people. For one, I don't want people to come to our house to look at the car. I'm also nervous about how to accept the cash/money order/certified check. Any suggestions??
Okay, now to the guys email.
I'm interested in your Camaro. Could you please send me the VIN. I'd like to get a CarFax report on it. Also, if you would send some pictures, I would appreciate it.

Is there anything sketchy about his request? Maybe I'm over-reacting.
Oh, and I have no problem sending pictures. I want this car gone!! (maybe my man will use the cash to buy me something sparkly)

I keep thinking about something I saw on 20/20. Folks get the VIN number and have a set of keys made for the car and then steal it...I watch too much TV.

However, having said that, I would suggest you send photos of the car first and tell him if he's still interested to contact you for date/time to meet to see it firsthand (make it a a public location) and THEN provide the VIN in person, or he can get it off the dashboard himself :)

If this person is still interested after that, i wouldn`t see a problem with them writing down the vin #.
