Crews are replacing that nasty, old pedestrian bridge over the Durham Freeway near Alston Avenue for the next couple of weeks. You can expect delays and detours on both directions for the Durham Freeway from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
Here's the detour, according to the NCDOT:
NC 147 Northbound Detour - Exit at Briggs Avenue. Turn right. At light turn left onto Pettigrew Street. Turn left onto Chatham Street. Turn left onto Gann Street. Turn right onto Alston Avenue. Turn right onto NC 147 on ramp.
NC 147 Southbound Detour - Exit at Alston Avenue. Turn left at Gann Street. Turn right onto Chatham Street. Turn right onto Pettigrew Street. Turn right onto Briggs Avenue. Turn left onto NC 147 NB ramp.
